5. Libraries of components and materials

GT-PowerForge comes built-in with a broad range of libraries of off-the-shelf references for all major components and materials of a converter’s power train.

These libraries are assembled from manufacturer-provided data using Gamma Technologies’ internal expertise, resulting in a harmonized, universal data set that enables comparison across manufacturers and technologies.

Users can also add their own private references, for exclusive use within their organization.

5.7. Metals

In power electronics, metals are used :

  • as electrical conductors in the windings of magnetic components

  • as thermal conductions in the baseplate and fins of heatsinks

The two usual metals commonly used for these purposes are available in GT-PowerForge.

The resistivity depends on the temperature T (in °C) as follows:ssss

\(ρ(T) = ρ_{20°C} \cdot (1 + α \cdot (T - 20))\)
